DataScene User Interface

DataScene has a very powerful, highly customizable, and easy to use graphical user interface (GUI). The DataScene GUI consists of the following components.

• Application Menus.

• Application Toolbars.

• Toolbox - a context-sensitive dock panel that contains tools for use with the active document.

• Navigator - a dock panel with controls that help the user to navigate all open projects and documents.

• Messages Window - a dock panel in which run-time messages are displayed.

• Document Windows - each is a dock panel that contains a document.

The DataScene GUI is highly context sensitive. The contents of the Toolbox and the Application Toolbars, the visibility of items on the Application Menus all change as the active document and its state change. By being context sensitive, DataScene automatically maintains a clean interface to the user. The use of dock panels in DataScene makes it extremely easy for the user to customize the layout of the interface and the ways the data and graphs are displayed.
