Creating Animations

To create an animation through time travel, follow these steps:

  1. Follow the steps in Plotting Using Formulas to create a series. At least one formula generating the data for the series must be time dependent - which means that, while creating the formula, the Time Dependent check box on the Column/Cell Formula dialog box should be checked and the formula should contain the time parameter T.

  2. With the time-dependent graph selected as the active document (a document can be activated by clicking the corresponding node in the Navigator), select the Time Travel tool on the ToolBox to open the Time Travel dialog box.

  3. Edit the options on the Time Travel dialog box if necessary, click its Start button to play back the animation.

  4. The animation can be exported to a file with the Animator tool on the Graph Tools tab of the ToolBox.

To create an animation through sequence, follow these steps:

  1. Follow the steps in Creating sequences to create a graph sequence

  2. With the graph sequence selected as the active document (a document can be activated by clicking the corresponding node in the Navigator), select the Graph Sequence tool on the ToolBox to open the Graph Sequence dialog box.

  3. Edit the options on the Graph Sequence dialog box if necessary, click its Start button to play back the animation.

  4. The animation can be exported to a file with the Animator tool on the ToolBox.
